How Southern Italy Shapes Every Collection

How Southern Italy Shapes Every Collection

Why Southern Italy will always feel like home

Some places never really leave you.

Southern Italy is one of them.

It is where we discovered not only handmade ceramics, but an entirely different way of living. One that celebrates long lunches, spontaneous gatherings and tables that are never too perfect.

This summer, ELLE Decoration Germany featured Studio Riviera as part of its Italy Special, exploring our favourite places, local recommendations and the inspiration behind our collections.

For us, Southern Italy is more than a destination.

It is where every Studio Riviera collection begins.

We spend countless days travelling through small villages, visiting family-run workshops and searching for details that often go unnoticed. A weathered doorway. A striped parasol. A faded wall. A market full of colours. A long lunch that somehow turns into dinner.

These are the moments that inspire our ceramics.

Every piece is still handmade and hand painted in Southern Italy using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. No two are exactly alike.

But Studio Riviera has never been about reproducing Italy.

It is about bringing its atmosphere home.

The warmth.
The colours.
The generosity.
The joy of gathering around one table.

Because we believe beautiful objects don't simply decorate a home.

They create memories.

Grazie mille to ELLE Decoration for featuring our story in this beautiful Italy Special.
