Cappello di Prete Bowl – 25 cm
The distinctive Cappello di Prete shape, meaning “priest’s hat” in Italian, is inspired by the traditional three-cornered hat once worn by clergy. Its gently raised sculptural rim gives the bowl an elegant silhouette that beautifully combines functionality with design.
This versatile bowl is perfect for serving pasta, salads, soups, risotto or starters, while its wide expressive rim makes every dish look beautifully presented.
Each piece in our collection is a true one-of-a-kind artwork. Handmade according to traditional pottery craftsmanship in a small ceramic studio in Puglia, southern Italy, every bowl is shaped on the potter’s wheel, glazed and carefully hand painted by our ceramic artist. No two pieces are ever the same.
Our ceramics are made from high quality clay sourced from a small village in Tuscany. After being shaped by hand, each piece dries for several days under the Italian sun before entering the kiln.
The bowl is then fired in an elaborate multi-stage process. It undergoes an initial firing of 36 hours at over 1000°C, followed by the application of the base glaze and a second 36 hour firing. Finally the decorative pattern is hand painted and the bowl is fired once more. These traditional techniques give STUDiO RiViERA ceramics their durability, vibrant colors and unmistakable character.
The different patterns of the collection can be beautifully combined to create your own STUDiO RiViERA Signature Table.
Beyond its function as tableware, this piece is also a decorative ceramic object that brings Mediterranean craftsmanship and Italian joie de vivre into your home.
